Checking your Domain name status.

You have two steps to getting started with your new website.

  • Create your account. Signup now!
  • Register your domain name. Register your domain!




  • Verifing your Domain name

    Once your domain is registered you can check the status to verify when the domain will be ready and "pointing" to your site. The pointing refers to the final setup of the dns/name server addresses.
    This entire process can take 1 to 2 days to complete after you submit your information to the registar.

    You can check the status of your domain either at the registry where you registered your domain or with a tool we provide you under your account admin menu from your membertools.

    What you will want to look for is the DNS/NAME server name and addresses, They should both be set our our address.

    How do I update my DNS/NAME server addresses.

    Your dns/name server address are two sets of addresses asked for when you registered your domain. These addresses are needed to tell everyone on the internet how to get to your new website on our service.

    Depending on the registar, you will to need to find the update form on there site and update the addresses with the following information.

    Name servers:

    ns1.virtualempire.com - 74.203.196.4
    ns2.virtualempire.com - 74.203.196.5

    Note: With out theses addresses setup , many functions of your website will not work. Including: Browsing and email.

    You can check the status of your domain dns/name server addresses either at the registry where you registered your domain or with a tool we provide you under your account admin menu from your membertools.

    I can't access my email.

    To access your email the following items should be checked first.

    If you have verified these items, then you need to check your email configuration.

    Local email client:

    Check to make sure you are using the correct userid to login and check for mail. The correct userid will depend on the type of email account you are checking the mail for.
    Once you have verified your login name then verify the smtp and pop3 server addresses.

    If all these items are checked and working , you should have access to your email.

    Note: Some isp's use firewalls and filters to stop SMTP and POP3 access. To verify your isp NOT filtering these services try the following.

    How do I add or remove Frontpage?

    Adding Frontpage extentions To add Frontpage after you have signed up you can use your account admin link under your membertools to add Frontpage extentions to your account.

    Removing Frontpage extentions To remove Frontpage, submit a support request with your userid and domain asking to remove Frontpage extentions from your account.

    Once you are fermiliar with our admin tools then you should begin by building a simple page.

    Next, start adding new features and links to build your site. Web surfers like to see sites that are updated and maintained well.

    Why do I see the message.
